Roger & Kay were pioneers in the development and marketing of smaller, home-based accommodation establishments within South Africa. Since our first involvement with this popular accommodation sector, beginning in 1989, we have seen the number of guest houses, bed & breakfast establishments and self-catering apartments, cottages and flats grow by many thousands across the length and breadth of South Africa.

With so many establishments and web sites to choose from, what makes us special?
We believe that we offer a unique combination of affordable, value-for-money and approved establishments, which have found favour with South Africans and international visitors alike. More than this, it is the hospitality that you receive from our hosts and hostesses, who live on the premises or very close by, as they welcome you into their establishments, that helps set us apart. Add to the above, a publication that is user friendly and yet detailed enough to enable you to make an informed decision about where to stay and you have some idea about our guide and this site being developed.

The popularity of our guide and the establishments included therein stems from a number of factors which include the following:

Quality ranges from Tourist Class, through Tourist/Business Class to Business Class. Cleanliness and hospitality rank highly for all the establishments. You can expect comfortable surroundings and a warm welcome wherever you go.

The hosts you will meet are usually also the owners of the establishment. They will delight in introducing you to our country and their area, in particular. Locations of these establishments vary from convenient city and suburban sites to tranquil farm and country town settings.

This is a go-direct guide. We have endeavoured to make it useful, informative and quick to reference and have provided detailed information on what is being offered, together with an indication of the daily rates charged. Rates are seasonal, which is why they are usually given as ranging from a low rate to a higher rate. To confirm rates and for enquiries and reservations, please make direct contact with each host (details in printed guide or entries on this site as they become available) When making enquiries, it is important to supply your specific needs (see "Travellers' Tips ").

We are working on making our website as popular and useful as our printed guide. Any feedback you might like to give us in this regard would be appreciated.

We have more recently created  The Business Accommodation  website.

Our LINKS page has direct links to certain accommodation, touring company web sites and other information that should be of interest to travellers.
